A happy day with a new friend!

Woo! What a wonderful day today! We have a new friend, NiuNiu, joining Kidsneyland today. She is a great girl. She had a smooth transition from home to our childcare, which might surprise her mommy a little bit. Also, our JoJo did a great job this morning, too. She didn’t cry when daddy left, and was so friendly to our new friend. We all had a happy and busy morning. This is the first time to have a circle with two friends. We sang “The More We Get Together” song with hand motions. We learned to update the monthly calendar in turns. We learned to put toys in the central area so we can share them with others. We painted together on a big piece of paper. We waited for the turns to go potty. We kicked the ball to each other. Finally, we ate together at the same table. (We were so hungry, and wanted to have lunch early today. Chen guesses that may be because we had more activities today than usual. ) There was so much fun to do things at school with friends. We hope “the more we get together, the happier we will be.”

Also, while JoJo is enjoying experimenting with paint in different colors using her fingers and hands, NiuNiu did her first art work My Flower. NiuNiu perfectly colored her leaves template. On the flower part, it is a little special. NiuNiu did not paint with her hands. She got a chance to use other tools to finish her flower. All my friends love art. They even did not want to stop. Sorry, we had to go out and play.

The morning was so short. There were so many things we try to do. We hope we can getting together soon and have fun again.

Nice to see you again!

On Wednesday, we were glad to meet our young lady, JoJo (nickname), again. This time it was daddy who dropped her off. Did it make it a little easier? Maybe.  After a couple of minutes of adjusting time, JoJo showed that she was ready for school.

We had the yummy breakfast together (cheese & egg tortillas, peaches and milk). And then we had our first, short, and fun circle time. We sang the Welcome Song, updated the calendar, played some animal postcard and learned the literacy "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?" JoJo tried to memorize what all the animals said in the story. While she was learning different animals, she worked on color recognition, too.

After the morning snacks (fruit cup and bagel), JoJo could not wait to do the art work. She kept pointing at the art supplies. This time, JoJo had art and sensory practice through gluing different art supplies on the paper. She had a great time using her paint brushes to spread the glue across the paper. She also had fun in testing and discovering how the glue felt on her skin and hair. After all the glue was spread, she posted different shapes and materials on the paper. It was so much fun to watch as JoJo was making sure that each piece went exactly where she wanted it to be. JoJo kept making adjustments in her projects until they were perfect.  The art supplies with glue on were very sticky. JoJo even tried to take the things off from her fingers by shaking her hand, but it did not quite work. Finally, she figured out that using the other hand to help was better than shaking the one. Smart!

What was next? Outside time! JoJo loved it.  She pointed out through the door, and even sat perfectly on the shoe changing spot waiting for me to help her to change shoes. She also grabbed her jacket from the hook, which was surprised me. In only two days, JoJo picked up the routine so quickly.  We were so lucky that day. We saw an air plane flied over our playground. The loud noise scared JoJo a little, so she went to me.

For lunch, we had chicken noodle soup with vegetables, banana and milk. JoJo loved the soup. While JoJo was playing back and forth between potty and lunch, (she knew that mommy would come at any time), the door bell rang again!

The First Day of The Little Lady!

Our first toddler lady had her first day at Kidsneyland Childcare.  She was a little upset at the beginning, being left by her mom, and she did not realize how much fun to be had for the rest of the morning!  She had to be separated from her sweet mom for a coupe of hours when her mommy had to go to work.
However, the gloomy feeling did not last very long. Our young lady soon adjusted to the welcoming environment at Kidsneyland and started her new life here. Following the schedule, we had outside time first: kicking a ball, sliding down the slide, writing with chalk, and digging in the sand box. Those were all fun things for the Lady.
Forty-five minutes later, we went back inside, and created our first art project: Hand Shape Flower.  She colored the template with a brush, and her own flower pot with her fingers, and made her own handprints with help from the teacher. In this project our young lady’s fine motor skills were strengthened by holding a brush, dipping and fingerprinting colors. The art work was also a sensory practice. 'How does it feel differently when the paint is on your hands?' She felt, first, a little cold, sticky, and confused. Then she found out that with paints on her hands she can make prints on the paper. She enjoyed it and kept asking for more paint. The changes in colors, when they were mixed, greatly increased her interest. 'Why did those colors change???' She will figure that out when she gets older.
At 11:45am, it was lunch time. The fresh and healthy meal consisted of black mushrooms, shrimp, tofu, some oranges, rice and milk. It seemed like rice was her favorite!
Time went fast. When the door bell rang, “Ding, Dong”, the smart girl knew that it was a signal that her mommy or daddy was here to pick her up!
What a busy morning!
